La Covarxella

Truly uniquely located in an overwhelming and untouched nature near Culla in the province of Castellon, this very comfortable house and fully equipped. It seems as if time has stood still here. The women still do their laundry here in the public water basins and the nature is truly breathtakingly beautiful. For lovers of nature, hiking, tranquility and only the tinkle of the bells of passing flocks of sheep with their shepherd the end!

Description of this amazing holiday home La Covarxella

Time may have stood still in the area, but the house has been completely adapted to modern times, while retaining authentic elements such as natural stone walls and wooden beams, with facilities such as central heating for the winter months. a WII video game system, flat screen TV and then we haven’t even mentioned the really fully equipped kitchen. The fully enclosed terrace is grand and offers a fantastic panoramic view of the beautiful surroundings.

Here is also the spacious outdoor kitchen with dining area, barbecue and paellero to prepare your own Valencian paella. Via a staircase that can be closed with a gate and up the hill, you reach the upper terrace, from where a path leads to the sun terrace with the natural pool (4×2 m and 1 m deep), which is naturally refreshed. It can be used from June onwards.

Surroundings of La Covarxella

The house is near the hamlet of El Molinell, a collection of a few houses and a well where the people of the area get water. Due to its location on the edge of the beautiful area of El Maestrazgo, you can take beautiful (signposted) hikes directly from the house. The nearest villages are La Torre d’en Besora and Culla, about 10 minutes by car, where there are a few bars, a bank (no ATM), a supermarket and a restaurant. A restaurant is also open on the road to Culla in summer.

The coast can be reached within 1 hour with unspoilt beaches (without facilities) in the La Serra d’Irta nature park or the more touristy seaside resort of Benicasim. The old town of Peniscola, built on a peninsula, is also worth a visit. City of Valencia can be reached in approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. Inland you can make trips in El Maestrazgo: to Villafranca del Cid (40 minutes by car), the medieval Cantavieja located high on a rock (about 1 hour) and Pitarque (1.5 hours) with waterfall and source of the river of the same name .

Ground floor: entrance into living room with open kitchen with dining area.
1st floor: hall with sitting area and WII game console/board games, bedroom with 2 single beds, 2 bedrooms with double bed, bathroom with walk-in shower, toilet and sink, door to terrace with space with washing machine.
2nd floor: bedroom with double bed and stairs with door leading to upper terrace, bathroom with washbasin, toilet, bidet, shower.

Remarks

• The plunge pool will be put into operation in June.
• The last 1600m to the house takes you over a passable, but narrow, and the last stretch somewhat steep country road for which no special car is required, but an experienced driver is required.
• This is a non smoking home.
• La Covarxella is located near Mas de la Higuera, also in our offer, for groups of 10-15 people, ideal to rent at the same time and still have your privacy.
• Internet: get a pre-paid Movistar card (only Movistar works it here) if you want an internet connection. There is a Movistar store at the airport.
• Depending on the number of guests in your party, some bedrooms may be locked.
