For those who like to combine the usual holiday activities of swimming and sunbathing with some history and culture, there is plenty to see in this area, while the sandy beaches and touristic attractions are a mere 35 minutes’ drive away. All rooms (and terraces) are on one level. Entering the house is into the spacious open plan living/dining room with high ceiling wit wooden beams, fireplace, 42″ flat screen with satellite TV and DVD player with USB reader plus a radio with CD player and USB reader; the well equipped kitchen is separated by a breakfast bar with three high stools. In the kitchen you will find a ceramic hob (4 burners), electric oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker, juicer, kettle, cooking utensils, cutlery, crockery, etc…

The washing machine, iron and ironing board are in a separate utility room. The bathroom has a large shower with sliding wall, sink and toilet. The two bedrooms (one with double bed, one with single beds) have fitted wardrobes and are comfortably furnished with good quality beds. A baby cot and a high chair can be provided on request at no extra cost.

Inside, everything is spacious, comfortable and cool. It is an attractive house which, although recently built, offers both charm and excellent facilities. There is a large fireplace/wood burner (with heat circulation system) and also air conditioning in both the lounge and bedrooms, making this an ideal holiday home all year round.

Outside, this property is completely secluded and peaceful -the only sounds you are likely to hear are those of goat bells in the distance. You can enjoy the magnificent view whilst having a meal from the front shaded terrace or pool area in total privacy. Not having close neighbours, this villa is ideal for secluded romantic villa holidays..

Surroundings of Casa Salares, holiday home in the Axarquia

Casa Salares takes its name from the very typical village of Salares, one of the best-preserved villages in Malaga province. This is a very peaceful village of 150 inhabitants characterised by its whitewashed houses of typically Moorish design and for its steep and winding streets. This is an ideal location for anyone looking for a lazy, relaxing holiday well away from the madding crowd but near enough to the surrounding white villages of Salares, Archez, Canillas de Albaida and Competa for enjoying a day out and trying one of the many bars and restaurants. Alternatively, there are some sandy beaches just 30 minutes by car, while the cities of Malaga and Granada can be visited on a one day trip.

Casa Salares is located just at the boundaries of the Sierra Tejeda-Almijara Natural Park, a carefully preserved area of spectacular natural beauty teeming with wildlife, including deer, mountain goats, hawks and eagles. Besides being a paradise for nature lovers, the park is also a paradise for hikers. You will find a number of spectacular walks here. Walks vary from easy to difficult, so the region can easily cater for all tastes and abilities. The summer in the area is very hot. If you want to have an active walking holiday the summer is not the best time of the year. The rest of the year the climate is agreeable (usually 10 to 15 degrees higher than the north of Europe).

Remarks

• During the summer holidays only available from Saturday to Saturday
• The swimming pool (8×4 m, 1.30-1.90 deep) has built-in stairs, and can be light at night
• There are no beach towels available
• Last 800 meters to the home consist of a dirt road
• Nearest airport is Malaga (AGP), at about 1 hour
