Above the house is the <strong>original wall<\/strong> through which the water channel runs, which leads to the <strong>old millstones<\/strong> that are still in a room next to the house.<\/p>\n<p>On a slightly higher terrace next to the house (so safe for children), an old water basin has been <strong>converted into a swimming pool<\/strong> (6 by 6 metres) that can be used from early June to September. From the <strong>pool and terrace<\/strong> you have an unobstructed view of the valley. In front of the house is a <strong>partially covered terrace<\/strong> with beautiful views of the valley and the <strong>Sierra de Alhamilla<\/strong>. On the side of the house is also a terrace that offers shade by the <strong>palm tree.<\/strong> The grounds around the house flow into a sparsely vegetated landscape with almond trees, olive trees, agaves and a single palm tree and some old <strong>cortijos<\/strong> (farmer&#8217;s house).<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Surroundings Cortijo Los Arcos<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The house is 3 km from <strong>Nijar<\/strong> and can be reached via a <strong>mountain road.<\/strong> The last 200 meters is a well-maintained country road. <strong>Beautiful walks<\/strong> can be made from the house. Like in about 40 minutes via a beautiful <strong>mule track<\/strong> to Nijar, past the old water mills, or to the small village of <strong>Huebro<\/strong> which is slightly higher up, about 20 minutes walk. In Huebro there is one bar\/restaurant with regional meals, for example Patates a la Pobre (potatoes with onions and green, long peppers). Nijar is a lively village known for its ceramics and rugs made in the region. From here it is a half hour drive to the <strong>beaches<\/strong> of the <strong>Cabo de Gata<\/strong> Natural Park. <strong>Almer\u00eda<\/strong> is about half an hour&#8217;s drive away.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Layout of holiday home <span style=\"font-family: inherit\">Cortijo Los Arcos<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Simple, but fully equipped open kitchen. Seating area and dining table. A few steps to the hallway with bathroom with bath, shower, toilet and washbasin and three bedrooms, of which 1 bedroom with a double bed and two with 2 single beds. Additional bathroom with shower, toilet and sink.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Remarks<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Consumption costs for heating are not included in the price.<\/li>\n<li>Swimming pool is only available from July 1st to the end of September.<\/li>\n<li>House is very remote, last few kilometers the road is bumpy and rough, less experienced drivers should take this into account.<\/li>\n<li>Nearest airport is Almeria (LEI), this is a fairly small airport.
