Casa Casares is an oasis of peace in the mountains near Casares. A perfect place to disconnect from the daily hassle in the middle of nature. Due to the low location of the house, on the side of a rock, you will not hear or see anyone here. The Mediterranean Sea is a 30-minute drive away and the Atlantic Ocean can be reached within 45 minutes from this holiday home. You will want for nothing in the house, the house is only rented out in the summer months, the rest of the year the Scandinavian owner lives here herself.
Surroundings of holiday home Casa Casares
The area invites you to go for a hike, you can spot eagles and vultures here. If you prefer to go underwater, the lagoons near Gibraltar are ideal for a day of snorkeling. The fashionable seaside resorts of Estepona, Marbella and Puerto Banus can be reached in 30 minutes. You can play golf at the local golf course or at the chic Finca Cortesin, both a 10-minute drive away. Casares itself is also worth exploring, concatenated white houses on a mountain, with a beautiful ruin and church on top as icing on the cake. Casares fully lives up to the image of a real Spanish white mountain village.
But you don’t have to leave, the saltwater pool is ready for you to spend warm days. The gardener ensures that the pool is beautifully clean for you, he will also take care of the garden every now and then and feed the 2 outdoor cats (who only live outside). If you have any questions, he is always there for you.
Layout of Casa Casares
The house is built in an L-shape, with the kitchen on one side and the living room on the pool side. The large terrace extends along the entire back and side of the house, just a little lower on a separate terrace the swimming pool is located. On the terrace below the pool you will find a hammock and the vegetable garden, which you can use to your heart’s content.
On the ground floor of the holiday home you will find the cozy living room which overlooks the terrace, the very complete and spacious kitchen with dining area is fully equipped. On the ground floor there is also a double room with single beds with a private bathroom with shower, this bedroom is adjacent to the living room. On the first floor you will find 2 more bedrooms, 1 with a double bed and bathroom with shower and washing machine + one with two single beds with a private bathroom with bath.
You will find sun loungers by the pool as well as on the terrace of the house. There are also spacious dining areas and a number of lounge chairs on the terrace. If the house is not rented out, the owner herself lives in this comfortable house. The furnishings are very complete and all bathrooms are brand new. All windows are fitted with mosquito nets. The finishing level of this house is very high. The holiday home has air conditioning in the living room and underfloor heating on the ground floor. There is central heating on the 1st floor. The owner is very committed to the beautiful surroundings and has therefore equipped her house with, for example, solar energy and there is a compost heap in the garden, everything to keep her carbon footprint as small as possible.
Tip from La Taha
The mountain range opposite the garden, Crestallina, is home to many birds of prey. You can spot beautiful birds at almost all times of the day. Spend an afternoon in the hammock and watch the spectacle unfold above your head, dozens of vultures, great owls and eagles use the sky as their playground.
Remarks
- There are 2 cats living on the property, these are looked after by the gardener and know that they are not allowed in the house.
- Due to the many level differences, this house is not suitable for people with walking difficulties.
- The pool is a saltwater pool, wonderfully soft for the skin.
- The nearest airport is Malaga (AGP) about an hour away.
