This lovely village house is owned by 2 interior designers and it shows. You will find this home-away-from-home in one of the cozy streets of Orxeta. The house is fully equipped. Although you may think standing in the street that the house may be a bit small, once inside you will be pleasantly surprised. The 120 m2 house has been renovated and redecorated with an eye for detail and respect for the original features such as wooden beams.

From the front door you enter the spacious kitchen/diner. Bright white plasterwork, a cozy large dining room table with comfortable chairs, Spanish pottery plates on the wall, attractive wicker hanging lamps, handmade Spanish wall tiles and a kitchen unit with wooden doors and wrought iron handles and a pellet burner. This house is also a nice place to be during the colder months. The fully equipped kitchen is equipped with every comfort such as an induction hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer combination, toaster, citrus juicer, kettle and Nespresso coffee machine.

Behind this kitchen/diner is a utility room followed by a bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. In the utility room you will find cleaning supplies, an ironing board and an iron.

All floors and stairs in the house are tiled with original Spanish tiles, which, in combination with the thick walls and ceiling fans, provide welcome relief in the often hot summer months. The first floor with two bedrooms is accessible via a staircase. The master bedroom is located at the front, has 2 single beds placed next to each other and has a typical Spanish balcony with patio doors. The second room at the rear has a double bed with a small patio terrace. Between the rooms you will find a spacious landing with a second bathroom with bath, sink and toilet. Both bedrooms have electric radiators and ceiling fans.

Living room and terraces

The living room on the second floor is accessible via a staircase. This is located under the roof, where the old, original beams have been preserved. The living room is spacious and very light, partly due to the pointed roof with a skylight and two terraces: one at the front and a second at the rear. As a result, this charming home offers a maximum experience of sunlight.

The living room has a comfortable sofa, two armchairs, attractive rugs, a wicker hanging lamp, authentic wall lighting, attractive decoration, a cozy pellet stove and of course a television. You can stream all programs from your phone to the television via a Chromecast. Of course, there is fast WiFi available so that you can also work from Casa Major, if there is no other option.

On the terrace at the rear of the living room are the washing machine and two sunbeds and the storage for pellets for the stove. On the front terrace there is a lovely lounge sofa and two armchairs with nice cushions to relax. Because the terraces are located high up, you can enjoy optimal privacy. From both terraces you have a beautiful view of the Sierra de Orxeta.

Surroundings of this lovely holiday home

For Casa Major, the nearest airport is Alicante (ALC) about a 35-minute drive away. Valencia is about an hour and a half drive. Within 10 to 20 minutes you can reach the coastal towns of Villajoyosa and Benidorm. Prefer quieter beaches; Playa del Bol Nou, Playa El Xarco and Cala Lanuza are truly beautiful. Within walking distance (5-10 minutes) from Casa Major you can reach the bakery and several bars and restaurants.
