Monchique

The streets of Monchique are steep and narrow, showing the green mountains in a new perspective with every step you take. The mountains have a certain exotic appearance, all the more so because cinnamon trees, hydrangeas and fruit trees grow here, which you would normally expect to find in gardens and orchards. All the more reason to take a long walk in this part of the Algarve, which is so different from the rest of the region.

Monchique must be visited on foot, because to really get to know the enchanting city, you have to go up and down many streets, gaze at the horizon between the houses and discover small sunny and quiet corners. You will have fond memories of this mountain town with history and character and will gladly visit it again.
