Fully equipped kitchen: dining table for 10; double sinks; 5-burner Smeg stove/oven; dishwasher and drinks fridge. Large walk-in closet with American fridge and microwave. Recently installed air conditioning units in both kitchen and sitting room.

The courtyard of the villa

The house wraps itself around the courtyard to the back of the property where there are plenty of shady spots to escape the heat during the day or enjoy drinks and tapas in the evening while watching the sun set. Set around a magnolia tree in the centre, there are 2 comfy sitting areas, a dining area for 12 and table tennis and this is where the gas bbq is found. The courtyard can be accessed from the kitchen or the bedroom wing.

The library

The library is located in the basement at the bottom of the stairs outside the master bedroom. Here you can find a number of books which can be borrowed (and returned) and a full size pool table perfect for an evenings’ entertainment or if you need to escape the heat of the day.

El Tornero’s swimming pool has ark blue tiles and salt water – it’s like a swimming in silk. At 15 metres long it’s perfect for getting the lengths in or just whiling away the hours on a lilo. There are ample sun beds for catching the rays and lots of shade under the honey suckle where there is a sofa and armchairs and a table and chairs.

Next to the studio is a fully equipped laundry room and cots, high chairs and pushchairs are also available for guests. ‘Dangerous places’ for the little ones are equipped with a gate.

This wonderfully spacious villa (or ‘cortijo’) enjoys exceptional views and a secluded setting in 25 acres of cork and chestnut trees in the Sierra de Aracena Natural Park in Western Andalusia, Spain.

Remarks

• The house cat Mariposa lives on the property, she welcomes dogs, provided they are kind to her.
• The nearest airport is Seville (SVQ) at about 90 kilometers. You will find a rental car here.
