Cortijo del Arroyo is a beautifully renovated and furnished house with a large, possibly shared swimming pool, near the town and Lake Iznájar. A lovely place to relax amongst the olive groves – the house is set amongst beautiful gardens and stunning countryside.
Description of your holiday home in Andalusia
Next to the 3-bedroom Cortijo del Arroyo, is the smaller, self-contained 1-bedroom holiday home Casita del Arroyo (suitable for 2 people). Both houses have their own terrace and plenty of privacy. The pool and jacuzzi are available to guests of the Cortijo and the Casita. For larger groups or complete privacy, we recommend booking both houses together.
Cortijo del Arroyo is a very spacious and cool house – built over 200 years ago – recently renovated with Spanish, English and French furnishings. The romantic bedrooms, modern kitchen and beautiful bathrooms will make you feel right at home. Cortijo del Arroyo offers very comfortable accommodation and, thanks to the wood burner and gas heating, a cozy holiday home all year round. The heated jacuzzi in the garden is a big plus, and is unique in Spain. British owners Dave and Al live on the same grounds and are happy to arrange activities, meals, sightseeing and transport. At an additional cost, Dave can even teach you Spanish.
Surroundings Cortijo del Arroyo
The nearest village is Villanueva de Tapia where you will find small shops, typical Spanish bars and a weekly market. A 15 minute drive will take you to Archidona, a larger village with much larger shops and amenities including 3 large supermarkets. Nearby cities and places of interest are Antequera (30 minutes), Malaga (60 minutes), Granada with its Alhambra (60 minutes), Cordoba (80 minutes), Seville and Ronda are two hours away. The Caminito del Rey (gorge walk) is an hour away and Iznajar and its lake, beach and chiringuito are 10 minutes away. From the house you can reach beaches in about 1 hour.
Layout Cortijo del Arroyo
Ground floor: well-equipped kitchen, separate dining room, comfortable living room and separate TV room. Also on this floor is the bathroom with shower and toilet for the double room in the separate area on the 1st floor. From the dining room and kitchen you reach the terrace. From the terrace a path takes you down to the pool, outdoor kitchen and bathroom + heated jacuzzi.
First floor: The first floor is divided into 2 parts. The first part houses a double room with queen bed, wardrobe and dressing table. In the second part, you will find the master bedroom, the triple room (with 3 single beds) and a bathroom with bath, separate shower and toilet.
Remarks
• The swimming pool is 10x5m (and is shared with possible other guests in Casita del Arroyo, 2-person house).
• Heated jacuzzi is in use all year round (and is shared with possible other guests in Casita del Arroyo, 2-person house).
• Towels for the pool are provided for you.
• When the adjacent Casita del Arroyo is also rented with this holiday home, a kind of holiday park is created for a total of 9 family members or groups of friends.
• Due to the central heating and the heated jacuzzi in the large garden, this holiday home is also very suitable to rent in the winter months.
• Owners ask for a security deposit of € 100,-
• You can order a welcome package which will be waiting for you on arrival.
• The nearest airport is Malaga (AGP), about 50 minutes drive.

Eigenaren zijn uiterst vriendelijk
Goed om te vermelden dat het zwembad omheind is, dat zie je in Spanje niet vaak en vonden wij een grote pré!

Het geheel overtrof al onze verwachtingen.
In de middle of nowhere
Prima huis, precies als omschreven en wat we zochten. Het aanpalende huis (voor 2 personen) was niet verhuurd zodat we het zwembad voor onszelf hadden. Supervriendelijke en gastvrije gastheren voor wie geen vraag te gek of te veel was, hadden gezorgd voor een meer dan voldoende welkomstpakket (we arriveerden op zondagavond). Compleet huis. Goed zwembad. La Taha: betrokken medewerkers, persoonlijke benadering.
Niets was de gastheren te veel.
De omgeving van Cortijo del Arroyo is rustig, het huis is omgeven door bergen met olijfbomen zover het oog reikt, een plek waar je helemaal met je familie en vrienden tot rust kan komen. Het ontvangst was bijzonder gastvrij, wij reizen al jaren en zijn dit nog nooit eerder tegengekomen.
Alles keurig verzorgd.
Alles was er. Ook waren er dingen voor het zwembad zoals bandje voor ons kindje/beachball/drijfstaven. Zeker omdat je met het vliegtuig komt kun je niet alles zelf meenemen en is dit echt wel erg fijn. bijzonder goede ontvangst, er stonden zelfs wat etenswaar klaar! Ook waren er boekjes van de omgeving en kon de bijzonder vriendelijke eigenaar ons goed helpen met tips en ideeën. Helemaal goed!
Prima huis met veel privacy
Prima huis in een vallei met meerdere huizen, maar toch met privacy. De ontvangst van de eigenaar was prima en heel vriendelijk. Er lagen zelfs wat boodschappen voor ons klaar. Het aanbod van La Taha wordt steeds groter en dus is het steeds moeilijker om te kiezen, maar we denken dat er daardoor voor elk wat wils is. La Taha is een heel professionele club.
