Unique location under an old Moorish watchtower (atalaya). The Sierra de Alhamilla , ideal for hiking,starts right behind Casa Atalaya. On the outskirts and therefore only a few minutes walk from Nijar. Large roof terrace with spectacular views over the village and the surrounding area. To the side of the house is a small walled garden which provides shade on hot days. The interior of the house is tasteful and light: a pleasant mix of antique and Moorish elements, beautiful photos and colors. And partly due to a good wood burner, also a lovely house to stay in, when the weather isn’t as good.
Surroundings of this holiday home in Andalusia
Nijar is a cozy village that is known for its ceramics and rugs that are made in the region. About half an hour from the beaches of the Cabo de Gata Natural Park and the city of Almeria. The last few hundred meters to the house is on a fairly narrow road that winds through the village. It is possible to get quite close to the house by car, but it is better to park the car at the bottom of the village.

Ground floor: well equipped, spacious kitchen with dining table and adjoining garden with stairs to the roof terrace. Washing machine available.
1st floor: spacious living room with seating area and another table by the wood burner. Two bedrooms, one with 1 double bed and the other with 2 single beds. Both bedrooms have their own bathroom with shower, toilet and sink. Do you need more beds? Then alsdo rent La Cueva.
Remarks
Nearest airport is Almeria (LEI), this is a fairly small airport. Alicante airport (ALC) is 3 hours away, this also applies to Malaga (AGP).

We komen zeker terug!
Dit is echt een top-huis; zoveel sfeer en aandacht voor details. De contactpersoon heeft ons heel hartelijk ontvangen.
We hebben genoten van het huis en heerlijke terras.
Wij vonden het vooral fijn om zo het dorp in te kunnen lopen en dan een lekkere tapa te kunnen nemen bij een van de bars. Vanuit Nijar zelf zijn een paar mooie wandelingen te maken en verder natuurlijk in het natuurpark zelf heel veel.
Aan alles is gedacht.
Het huis is prachtig gelegen en ook op warme dagen heerlijk koel: doordat het hoog op de berg ligt waait het altijd wel een beetje. Er zijn meer dan voldoende plekken om lekker te zitten, zowel in de zon als in de schaduw. Nijar is een leuk dorpje en de Cabo de Gata vinden wij een fijne plek om naar toe te gaan (inmiddels de zevende keer). De ontvangst kan niet beter: hartelijk, vriendelijk en zorgvuldig. Overigens net als de inrichting het huis. Het huis was helemaal in orde. Er was ook goede Wifi beschikbaar, dat stond overigens niet in de beschrijving. Moeite waard om toe te voegen!
